There are several types of traditional treatments for Bajo ethnic that has been already known by outside people, for example: Kaka, Deaf, Kutta, Kadilaok and Kadara. Bajo traditional treatment is performed by sandro (shaman, healer) who has knowledge about the four elements of humans’ creation. They believe that humans have the four elements of life, namely: earth, water, fire and wind. Kaka/Ari-ari Previously, kaka or ari-ari is a ritual of birthday celebration for Bajo ethnic. Kaka is trusted worthy as a ritual to maintain physical health of Bajo ethnic. Currently, this ritual is only performed if one of them gets a severe pain. This ritual is performed by putting down the offerings to the sea by a boat. Bajo people believe that the placenta is the twin of newborns. In Bajo term, ari-ari is known as kaka or other Bajo ethnics elsewhere who called it as kagumbarang which means twin. In this case, cutting process of newborns’ placenta in Bajo uses aur bamboo dropped into the sea. When it is dropped, the placenta is facing up, so the baby has the characters that follow his father. But if the fall of the placenta is facing down, then the baby will follow mother’s characters.
